Furneaux Historical Research Association Museum houses an interesting and varied collection of records and exhibits. There are relics of the sealers, of the Straitsmen, of people and places and events in the Island story. There are family albums, old books and paper cuttings, natural history specimens, even the old, wooden, two-roomed Whitemark Police cells circa 1916 and a great assortment of items from shipwrecks
Members of the Furneaux Historical Research Association maintain and staff the Museum at weekends; it can be inspected at other times by arrangement. Open weekends and public holidays from 1pm to 4pm in winter and daily 1pm to 5pm in Summer.
