Our compact SUV wagons come with automatic transmission. Comfortable seating for five adults to explore the Island. Rear hatch door for quick and easy access.

The standard non wavier able insurance excess is $2,500. A damage cover fee of $10 per day will reduce the standard excess to a maximum of $1200 or for a further $10 per day to $600.

Extras to hire

Car Seats $5 per day

Safe & Sound car seats from 0-4 yrs can be fitted in all hire cars forward or rear facing to suit your child, Safe and Sound Maxi Rider Booster seats are available for children up to 7yrs of age. Just let us know their weight and age and which side of the vehicle you prefer them on and we can have the car seat fitted in your hire car ready for your arrival on Flinders Island.

Esky $5 per day, max $20

Eskys 25lt and 40lt are available for the fisherman, camper or for those that enjoy the freedom of eating outdoors. Keep your food and drinks icy cool while you are out walking or stopped at your favourite fishing spots on Flinders Island.

Deck chairs (2) $5 per day, max $20

Comfortable outdoor chairs to make any location on Flinders Island the perfect place to stop for a picnic or watch a sunset. Great to rest your legs while waiting for the elusive bite from a black back Salmon or gummy shark.

Extras to buy

National Parks Pass $41.20 per vehicle per length of stay

For entry to Strzelecki National Park on Flinders Island you will need to display your Tasmanian All Parks Pass, please bring it with you or purchase an island pass when you arrive. Flinders Island Car Rentals are Agents for Parks and Wildlife can provide a vehicle pass on arrival, along with the three Great Short Walks of Tasmania cards, Trousers Point, Castle Rock and Mt Strzelecki.

For a bit more insider knowledge to help explore the many walking tracks and trails consider purchasing the local walking book ‘A Walking Guide to Flinders and Cape Barren Islands – D’reen Lovegrove & Steve Summers. There’s a walk to suit everybody, from the Lady Barron Foreshore Track to Yellow Beach or the trek to the top of Strzelecki, allow 5 hours return for this trip.
